Different Cadet activities will require different dress requirements. A uniform is provided to Cadets which will be worn during formal training. For less formal training, personal clothing will be worn. Please see uniform care page for more information.
The following guidelines are set out to help each Cadet maintain a high standard in dress and deportment.

- Shall not be greater than 4cm (1.5 inches) in bulk at the top of the head with the bulk decreasing gradually from the top and blending with the taper trimmed sides and back
- Styled so that it does not present a bizarre or exaggerate appearance or interfere with the proper wearing of headdress

- In no case shall the bulk of the hair interfere with the proper wearing of headdress
- Hair ornaments will not be worn
- Long hair shall be secured into a bun with bobby pins, hair nets, and similar items in a way that such items are not visible

- Hair must be a natural colour, even if it is dyed
Make-Up
- Female cadets are authorized to wear minimal amount of make-up (neutral foundation, blush, mascara)
- When wearing the uniform, make-up shall be applied conservatively. This precludes the use of false eyelashes, heavy eyeliner, brightly coloured eye shadow or lipstick, coloured nail polish and excessively facial make-up
All Personnel – Jewelry
- All personnel are authorized to wear a watch of natural colour (no bright colours), medical alert bracelet or necklace, and a maximum of two rings, one per hand. Rings must not be of costume nature.
- In the interest of safety, all jewelry are to be removed when working with rope or machinery. Medical alert bracelets should be secured inside clothing while engaged in such activities.
- Female cadets are allowed to wear one pair of earrings at a time in the center of each ear lobe. They must be plain gold or silver studs less than 1/4 inch in diameter. Male cadets are not authorized to wear earrings at cadet functions.
- Any piercing other than standard ear lobe is considered unauthorized and is not allowed, including tongue. Covering piercings with a bandaid is not acceptable.
