Looking to add some excitement to your life? Join Sea Cadets! Cadets is a program sponsored by the Department of National Defense for all youth ages 12-18. Our program allows you to meet new friends and give you opportunities to travel with minimal cost to you and your parents! There are lots of activities that happen throughout the year in different cities that may include sailing, survival training, seamanship, canoeing, sports, biathlon, marksmanship, other water related activities and so much more!

Cadets is a wonderful program to teach youth leadership skills and help youth grow into mature, respectful young adults. The program is open to youth ages 12-18 (for youth ages 9-12, check out Navy League) and is full of opportunities!

Cadets have an opportunity to attend a number of regional and national activities including summer training. Summer training courses range from one to six weeks for additional training on specific subjects like sailing, seamanship, drill & ceremonial, music, or physical fitness. Transportation, as well as room and board, are provided to each Cadet that is selected for this optional training. We have training centers Coast to Coast, each specializing in different areas. The Cadets also receive a weekly training bonus of $60 for each week they attend summer training to cover incidentals and purchasing canteen items.

The Cadet Program is one of the largest federally sponsored youth programs in Canada. Cadets are not members of the Canadian Armed Forces, nor are they expected to join the military. While they are introduced to Sea, Army and/or Air activities of the Canadian Armed Forces and certain traditions, they are also introduced to many other respectable career choices that are available to them.
